New patients
90% of our New Patients come by personal recommendation. The Practice has become extremely popular as a result of the trust developed between patient, dentist and supporting staff.
All patients have individual needs. Your first visit will be the first step towards developing the trust and personal tailored care that you require.
The first visit ...
At the first visit you will be welcomed and introduced to the dentist and assistants. The necessary paperwork has to be completed. This includes a detailed medical history (please bring a list of medication taken with you). You will have an opportunity to tell us of any aspects of dentistry you may not have been happy with in the past. You may wish to discuss modern developments you have seen or heard of e.g. bleaching gels and veneers.
The dentist will need to examine you and carry out a full oral screen. Most patients are recommended to see our hygienist to help them achieve and maintain good oral health. An appointment with our hygienist can be organized during the first visit.
Before you leave the practice you will be given a full report on your oral health any various treatment options if they are required with a treatment estimate of any costs.
Length of the first visit ...
You will need to allow approximately 30 minutes for your visit not all this time will be spent with the dentist. We do not want you to feel rushed and stressed. At certain times the practice can be extremely busy particularly late afternoon (when schools close) and evenings. We recommend you first visit the practice during a calm quiet session for example from mid-morning to early afternoon.
If you feel the dentist will need to spend extra time with you - for example - you feel very nervous, have complex treatment options you wish to discuss, our receptionist can allocate more time.
You must always feel comfortable in the knowledge that we can explain treatment at any time. You can telephone for advice or just call into the practice and talk to one of our trained staff at any time.
